Google PR says its number one principle is to “do what’s best for the user.”
Google says, “We make hundreds of changes to our algorithms every year to improve your search experience. Not every website can come out at the top of the page, or even appear on the first page of our search results.”
But what about when users’ interests clash with the interests of Google’s advertisers and favored partners? (For a recent example, how concerned is CEO Larry Page about Internet users when he has the opportunity to make hundreds of millions of dollars from ads for illegal and potentially harmful pharmacies?)
