Texas AG Opens Investigation into Google
According to the Washington Post, Google is under the Texas state attorney general’s (AG) microscope as a result of complaints that the “company has abused its power as the Internet’s dominant search engine.”
The report highlights that the European Union is also taking a close look at complaints that Google favors its own services in its results over rival sites.
Texas is the latest in a string of state AGs’ investigations. Connecticut AG, Richard Blumenthal is leading the charge and reported a conference call with “over 30 states“–to investigate further, what he calls, Google’s “deeply disturbing invasion of personal privacy.”
